Spending time indoors during chilly months can worsen allergies to mold, dust mites, and pet dander. Here's what to do about it:
Wash your sheets weekly in hot water to rid them of dust mites. Clean clothes in your closet that have not been worn/washed in a while.
Keep your pets off the bed at night, or if that is not possible, bathe & brush more consistently to prevent dander in your long term areas.
Clean heating ducts systems and vents alongside general dusting.
Keep up your fluids lots of water, eating more water-rich fruits and vegetables, and if you like, drinking hot tea. A benefit to hot drinks: the steam may reduce nasal congestion.
Scrub fridges, sinks, tubs, floors, and garbage cans. Kitchen and eating surfaces should be sanitized.
